FAQs

I've never done pole before! How can I get started?

We recommend attending an Intro to Pole class! You can also attend three consecutive Intro to Studio K sessions to get a feel for all styles of classes we offer while getting to know other new members. You're welcome to book any classes that don't have pre-requisites or private lessons right away. For your first class, arrive ten minutes early so we can show you around the studio. To prepare for class see "what should I wear" in the description. You won't need to bring anything other than your water.

When should I arrive to class?

Doors will open ten minutes before class starts. Plan to be on time - late entries are not allowed. If this is your first class at Studio K, show up ten minutes early to be introduced to the studio.

Do I need to already have dance experience, be fit and flexible, and have upper body strength?

No! Our classes are for everybody, with offerings that start on the beginner level. We can't wait to welcome you to the studio as you are.

What should I wear?

Comfortable athletic clothes are recommended. For pole classes wear shorts or sticky leggings so you can grip the pole. For classes on the floor wear socks or go barefoot. If you've been to at least three classes you can wear heels (pole heels only, street heels are not allowed). We have some great clothing and shoe options available for purchase in the retail section of the studio. Please remove jewelry and don't apply lotion or oils before class. Each class listing has a "what to wear section" when booking.

Are your classes open to all genders?

Yes! Studio K is an inclusive space. Everyone who upholds our community values is welcome.

What is the leveling process? Can I book higher level classes if I have previous pole experience?

We trust you to honor your body and make the right choice based on the class prerequisites. If you're unsure, your instructor will be happy to help recommend the best classes for you.

How can I book a private party, private lesson, or space rental?

Buy a pricing plan online and email us at info@studiokpole.com to find an available time! We'll ask a few questions to help us prepare for your booking, and share additional details and policies with you.

Do you have scholarships?

If you love pole we want you to be able to participate! We have a discounted membership if pricing is a barrier to entry. Who qualifies? Anyone who feels they need a more accessible price point can sign up. We won’t ask for any financial information. Give us a call at (360) 209-2097 for details and to get set up.

What are the studio policies?

Conduct: All students are expected to uphold our values of honoring your body, respecting your community, and being free from judgment. Be inclusive and supportive, keep your commentary positive, and leave teaching and spotting to the instructor. Discrimination, harassment, or unsafe or disrespectful behavior will result in immediate removal.

Late Arrivals: Students are not allowed to join the class after the warm up has started. A complete warm up is essential to safety and injury prevention. If students arrive after the class start time entry is not guaranteed. In this case, please ring the doorbell and we will do our best to let you in if the warm up hasn't started. Late arrivals are considered no-shows.

Cancellations and No-Shows: Classes can be canceled or rescheduled up to 6 hours ahead of the scheduled start time. No refunds or additional credits will be given for cancellations or rescheduled classes within 6 hours or for no-shows.  Unlimited members will be billed $15 per no-show after the first absence per month.
Private lessons can be canceled or rescheduled up to 12 hours ahead of the scheduled start time, and cancellations or reschedules after that are subject to forfeit of $35 deposit. Private parties are subject to a $75 nonrefundable deposit at booking to hold the time. Reschedules and cancellations are allowed up to 12 hours ahead of time, but the deposit will not be refunded. No-shows for private lessons and private parties will not receive a refund.

Filming: It's absolutely encouraged to film yourself - track your progress and admire what you can do! If there will be other people in your shot, ask for their consent before beginning the video and be clear about how you'll be using it (personal use, social media, etc.)

Attire: Feel empowered to express yourself however you’d like, but please keep in mind nudity, street shoes, and items that may damage the pole (such as rings) are not allowed.

Drugs and Alcohol: Usage of drugs or alcohol before or during classes is not allowed. Anyone under the influence will be asked to leave and considered to have canceled the class.

Class Minimums: If a class has less than three students, the class will be canceled
and students will be notified >2 hours ahead of time.

Refunds: All sales are final. Credits are not transferrable.

Observers: Observers are not allowed in class, for the comfort and safety of instructors and students.
